Este es un blog para mostrar mis ilustraciones al mundo, básicamente. Me surgió la necesidad de mostrar mi trabajo, porque creo que ya es tiempo para que pueda vivir de esto. Decidí avocarme a este sueño de lleno, y creo que mostrarle a todos mis trabajos es la mejor manera. Mi otro objetivo es crecer juntos a través de la crítica, de las opiniones, de compartir experiencias. Para mi todo eso es valiosísimo y este es un buen medio para recolectarlo.
¿Por qué ese nombre?
Transmutar, según el diccionario significa: transformar, hacer que una cosa se convierta en otra. Y es a partir de ese concepto que elegí el nombre de este blog. Para mí el arte (y la ilustración como parte de tal) consta en volcar sobre diferente soportes todo lo que nuestro ser procesa. Nosotros seriamos el "transmutador" que capta, digiere y clasifica la información del caótico y efímero mundo para volcarla en una obra eterna. Cada uno de nuestros engranajes gira según como los vayamos disponiendo para así ir dando forma en nuestra mente a todo lo que nos rodea, y a su vez, la forma en que disponemos cada pieza, es lo que da como resultado nuestra forma de ser y actuar, nuestra esencia, nuestra "alma". Y para completar este complejo aparato, tenemos nuestra mano, que trabaja como un sismógrafo, representando sobre el papel cada vibración del mundo que retumba en nuestro ser.
Y qué mejor para esta descripción que la popular (pero no por ello fea) frase, "el arte es el reflejo del alma".

What is this?
Basically, this is a blog to show my illustrations to the world. I found it necessary to display my work because I would like to devote my life to it. I believe that showing it to the greatest possible number of people has to do with a full-time commitment to it. My other goal is to evolve along with my public throughout criticism, opinions and experiences together. I find this really worthwhile, and a blog is a good way to make it grow.
Why the name?
To transmute, according to the dictionary, means: to transform, to make something change into another thing. That is the concept that I chose for my blog. For me, Art (and Illustration along with it) consists of putting into different forms of expression what ourselves see and process. We are the transmuter who gets, digests and classifies the sensations of our chaotic and ephemeral world to turn them into a work of Art which is eternal. Every wheel of our personal machine spins following our commands in order for us to shape in our mind everything around us. At the same time, paradoxically, the way every single atom locates in ourselves derives in the way we behave and react, our essence, our “soul”. And reaching the top of that complex machinery, we have our hand working as a seismograph, which represents in a piece of paper the world´s vibration that echoes in our souls.
And are there better words for this description than the popular idea that art is a reflection of our soul?.
